Book three in Mark's One series.
In One Writes, Helen Barnette writes in a journal about life at West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1938. There is a brief mention of Hitler and of World War II that the United States will be in soon.
In the second part of the book, Hersel Holbrook is a soldier in France for the United States and writes home to his dad, mom, sister, and brothers about the girls he meets and his longing to be home.

Mark Romano interviewed Lanky Henderson over several years. They traveled throughout Nicholas and Webster Counties. We find historical photos, maps, schools, churches. We also hear from many area residents about work, play, schools, coal, logging, railroading, ghost stories, murder mysteries.
Doctor Dan by Thelma and Kent Kessler
This impossible to find book was out of print. Mark Romano created a friendship with Kent Kessler's niece whom had been over his estate. She found some new material included in this book for the first time and Romano published this edition.
The Doctor traveled by horseback and train and performed the first surgery in Nicholas County WV.
